About Me

Hi! I am Anjana Ashok. I have this creative keeda that makes me do some creative stuff, and I am sharing it here with you. I hope you enjoy going through my website.

The matter on this website is what sprang forth like a fountain from my being. It is not tailored to fit someone’s requirements or molded to communicate something specific to fulfil a specific purpose. It is just natural self expression.

Digging deeper and finding out what is there in me is my quest.

One conversation I had to give up to start this blog was the hold on my psyche of the saying ‘Jack of all trades is a master of none’ . I got present to that we are all multifaceted like Gemstones and that being a multifaceted diamond is okay. What is not okay is to suppress who we are and keep suffering the consequences of that suppression.

My love for singing has been with me since my life began I guess. I remember my father telling me that I used to sing and dance all day even as a little baby girl going to pre-nursery school. He shared that he used to walk me back from school and I used to hold his hand while walking homewards and keep on singing and dancing all the way. It is a joy to remember his share. My Mom heard me singing with Ye Dil Aur Unki Nigahon Ke Saaye playing on the radio when I was four years old. She immediately put me into training and kept organizing trainers for me for long. All the years of training in singing, I think 16 or more, have stood me in good stead. I have sung my way through life’s good, bad and ugly. Of course, the singing has been to soothe me and to fulfill me till now. Maybe soon God will gift me with some original songs to sing and to share with the world.

I am good in communicating in both English and in Hindi. And my self expression shows in both these languages interspersed with some words from Urdu, Punjabi and maybe some other Indian languages. I am really proud of my cultural heritage and am happy that I have so much to learn from and experience.

The cover image on my blog represents me as the white dove, a symbol of peace and all things sublime, flying in front of the mesmerizing Hawa Mahal that represents my dear city of Jaipur. Representative images are mostly from pexels.com. I truly thank them for the wonderful collection of photographs from which I can choose the one that expresses what I want to express.

If you like any content on my blog just drop me an email. I will be grateful that my effort could delight your heart. You could also leave a comment on my blogs. I will be happy to read and respond to you.

Just some small requests. Do not compare me with the stalwarts. I don’t stand anywhere near them. Also, if you feel like using some content just let me know, or at least credit me duly and send me a link of it on my email. All that I pen is original stuff.

With love fro

m Anjana
